PORT ANGELES — High winds Monday morning blew a tree down an embankment and onto the roof of the Port Angeles Food Bank building.
The damage will not close the food bank, which supplies food to hundreds of families in Clallam County each week, director Mikki Saunders said.
Food items and storage units within the food bank, 402 S. Valley St., were not damaged, Saunders said.
City Public Works Director Glenn Cutler said a building inspector has examined the metal-sided building, which is owned by the city, and will provide a damage estimate shortly.
“The appropriate repairs will be made to the building,” Cutler said.
