PORT ANGELES –Spending a week in November on a barge anchored in Port Angeles Harbor may not appeal to most people.
But starting Nov. 18, Red Lion Hotel General Manager Michael Luehrs has pledged to live continuously on the barge to raise money for the United Way of Clallam County’s annual fund drive.
Luehrs said he will remain on the barge for up to a week if daily fund-raising goals are met.
He is hoping his zany actions will be an incentive for Red Lion employees and community members to raise at least $5,000 for the drive.
