PORT ANGELES — More than 300 volunteers are needed this weekend to complete another phase of the Dream Playground.
Work will occur rain or shine today through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Volunteers will install curved sidewalks, colorful masonry structures to display handprint tiles, wooden benches and a permanent sponsors’ monument to complete an entrance north of the playground at Erickson Park on Race Street across from Civic Field.
Officials also hope to raise a 16-foot totem pole carved by Al Charles Jr. of the Lower Elwha Klallam tribe.
For safety reasons, the playground will be closed during the construction. To volunteer, call Steve Methner at 360-457-6456 or e-mail Steve@stevemethner.com.
