The trial for a Port Angeles man who prosecutors say killed a Clallam County deputy sheriff in August 2000 has been postponed again.
Thomas Martin Roberts, 55, could stand trial in late August or early September, court officials said.
The previous trial date of May 28 wouldn’t work because it interferes with the vacation time of several witnesses, officials said.
Roberts has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity and remains in Clallam County jail for the Aug. 5, 2000, slaying of Deputy Wally Davis.
Another hearing to discuss a trial date will be held Feb. 21 in Superior Court.
