PORT ANGELES: Thousands attend Juan de Fuca festival

PORT ANGELES — Juan de Fuca Festival of the Arts officials are calling this year’s event a success.

Festival Director Anna Manildi estimated that more than 12,000 people had attended as of Monday afternoon.

“It’s so hard to tell the numbers, but it seemed to me there were at least that many,” she said.

Last year, Manildi said approximately 12,000 people attended. In 1999, the event drew nearly 10,000 people.

“All in all, we’re very pleased with the turnout,” she said.
