PORT ANGELES — Dr. Robert Witham was the subject of almost three hours of discussion during the Olympic Medical Center board of commissioners’ meeting Wednesday night.
But Witham wasn’t there.
He wasn’t invited to attend the meeting by the OMC administration or by the commissioners.
In fact, he has yet to meet with any of the seven commissioners who oversee the tax-supported hospital.
“You would think they would want to get my side, or at least want to investigate what is happening,” he said in an interview Friday.
“Nobody on the board has picked up the telephone once to ask my opinion, or to verify what they had been told by the administration.
Witham said he was told by patients who attended Wednesday night’s session that “OMC put up a brick wall, that ‘we know what’s best for the community.’
“Instead of listening to the community, they said they were lectured at.”
