PORT ANGELES — Olympic National Park rangers on Thursday located three city officials who lost their way in the park’s backcountry and will hike out with the trio today.
Three rangers reached City Manager Mike Quinn, Fire Chief Dan McKeen and City Attorney Craig Knutson Thursday afternoon on an unmaintained trail between Mount Scott and Ludden Peak, south of Port Angeles, where the group apparently become disoriented while hiking between the park’s Sol Duc and Elwha ranger stations, park Spokeswoman Barb Maynes said Thursday.
“They were in a good location along one of the routes out of the Bailey Range but had become disoriented as to their exact location,” she said.
