An 18-year-old Port Angeles skateboarder suffered a broken right leg after colliding with a car downtown on Monday night, police said.
Brandyn Sampson was crossing Lincoln Street westbound at First Street when he struck the fender of the southbound Ford Crown Victoria and slid across the hood, Officer Brian Raymond said.
Sampson was riding his skateboard outside of the crosswalk and against the light, Raymond said.
He was taken to Olympic Memorial Hospital, where he was also treated for head cuts, Raymond said.
The Crown Victoria driver was identified as a 16-year-old girl from Clallam Bay. Speed and equipment failure did not appear to be factors on the part of the Crown Victoria.
No decisions had been made on whether to issue citations in the case, Raymond said.
