Port Angeles: School’s new music building to be dedicated Saturday

PORT ANGELES — A dedication ceremony for the newly completed Stevens Middle School music building — already in use — will be held Saturday.

The ribbon cutting will begin at 10 a.m. at the building located on the west side of the school, 1139 W. 14th St.

The public is invited to attend the ceremony.

The structure opened to students earlier this month following about six months of construction.

The ceremony will feature remarks from Stevens music teachers, Stevens Principal Chuck Lisk, Port Angeles School District Board Vice President Nancy McLaughlin, Superintendent Gary Cohn and district Construction Director Roger Easling.

Instrumentalists to perform

The Stevens Middle School Orchestra and Jazz Band will perform under the guidance of Phil Morgan-Ellis and Ed Donahue.

Following the ceremony, teachers will be available to give highlights of the music building rooms and facilities. Light refreshments will be provided.
