PORT ANGELES — This story has a happy ending.
A 14-pound lobster nicknamed Hercules is on his way back to his New England home, thanks to the efforts of Stevens Middle School students, the supermarket that was his temporary home and several other businesses.
The mammoth lobster — born when Harry S. Truman lived in the White House — should arrive in Maine and feel the waters of the Atlantic Ocean today.
He spent Tuesday night making a coast-to-coast air journey via FedEx Express.
Starting today, Hercules is scheduled to spend about 10 days in Friendship, Maine, under the close watch of biologists from The Lobster Conservancy before being set free in his home habitat.
