Port Angeles School District names high school’s interim assistant principal

PORT ANGELES — Hamilton Elementary School sixth-grade teacher Jeff Lunt has been named interim assistant principal at Port Angeles High School.

Lunt, a Port Angeles graduate, will return to his alma mater, moving into the office held by Jeff Clark.

Clark was appointed interim principal at the high school after Principal Garry Cameron departed in June when he was hired as principal of Upland High School in California.

Lunt served as assistant principal at the school from 2007 to 2009 and most recently taught sixth grade at Hamilton Elementary School.

He was assistant principal at the former Roosevelt Middle School during the 2006-2007 school year, and he also taught eighth-grade social science there starting in 2004.

Prior to his work for the Port Angeles School District, Lunt taught seventh-grade social studies and language studies at Clover Park School District in Lakewood and fifth grade for the Franklin Pierce School District in Tacoma.

Lunt received a bachelor’s degree from Evergreen State College, teaching certification from the University of Washington, and a Master of Education degree and educational leadership and principal certification from City University.
