Port Angeles: School Board to seek levy for computers, other high-tech items

PORT ANGELES — Voters in the Port Angeles School District will be asked Feb. 8 to support a technology levy for the first time.

The School Board voted unanimously Monday night to place the measure to fund new training computers, software and related high-tech equipment on the all-mail ballot.

The collection rate and amount of the levy were not decided.

The five-member board will discuss the levy amount during a study session Monday and approve the proposal during a Dec. 13 meeting.

School Board President Charlie McClain and board member Jeff Hinds, who are on the district’s Community Technology Committee, encouraged other board members to support the technology levy.
