Port Angeles: Roughriders sending three wrestlers to regionals

Port Angeles High School is sending three wrestlers to the regional championships this coming weekend.

Julio Garcia, Nick Borchers and Cory Looney all finished in the top eight at the sub-regionals last weekend at Olympia High School to advance.

The regionals are scheduled for Friday and Saturday at Foss High School in Tacoma. Friday’s session starts at 4 p.m. while Saturday’s action begins at 10 a.m.

The top four in each weight class advance to the state tournament.

Port Angeles captured 10th place at the 16-team sub-regionals last Friday and Saturday. Foss won the team championship while South Kitsap was runner-up and Bellarmine took third.
