PORT ANGELES — Construction of a new Olympic National Park resources building is set to begin this spring.
The single-story office and laboratory building will provide space for offices, a laboratory, curatorial facilities and conference and meeting space for natural and cultural science staff, partners and volunteers.
“We are eager to see this project move forward,” acting Olympic National Park Superintendent Sue McGill said Thursday. “We’ve worked hard to keep costs to a minimum and are grateful to the variety of funding partnerships that are making it possible.”
Funding for the new building is provided by contributions from several sources including the U.S. Geological Survey’s Olympic Field Station and Congressional appropriations.
