PORT ANGELES — Officials with Serenity House of Clallam County will dedicate the long-awaited single-adult shelter for the homeless today.
The dedication ceremony will begin at noon at the new shelter, 2321 W. 18th St., and include speeches and tours of the facility.
People can tour the facility until 4 p.m., and refreshments and other project information will be available.
The new building can house 50 to 70 individuals, and will replace an older facility which provides accommodations for 33 single adults.
Final completion and occupancy of the building is expected in mid-November, said Kathy Wahto, executive director of Serenity House.
