PORT ANGELES — A cloudy morning gave way to a sunny afternoon Friday as the Coast Guard’s newest cutter, Adelie, was commissioned into service.
About 75 people attended the christening ceremony at the Coast Guard’s Port Angeles Group command on Ediz Hook.
Chaplain Edwin Carroll’s prayer for the Adelie and crew began the commissioning.
“And by your spirits, spread her fame throughout the land,” Carroll said.
