PORT ANGELES — The American Red Cross and the Port Angeles Fire Department will deliver and install new smoke alarms in a west Port Angeles neighborhood Saturday.
Homes in the area bounded by Laurisden Boulevard to the north, U.S. Highway 101 to the south, Fairmont Avenue to the west and Newell Road to the east can get free smoke alarms.
Volunteers will visit homes between 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to evaluate smoke alarms and install new ones if needed.
Notices were placed on doors in the neighborhood the week prior to the event, interested residents should ensure that someone is home to answer the door.
