PORT ANGELES — Olympic Medical Center will observe Nov. 27 through Dec. 1 as Mike Glenn Week.
Those five days will be Glenn’s last as CEO of the hospital that he helped develop from a rural acute-care facility into the premier health care provider in Clallam County.
Glenn, 44, will leave OMC after 15 years, seven as CEO, to become associate administrator at Providence St. Peter Hospital in his hometown of Olympia.
At Wednesday night’s meeting of hospital commissioners, naming the week for Glenn eclipsed even approving the 2007 budget and setting the hospital district levy.
The proclamation thanked Glenn for his “wisdom, leadership and fierce dedication.”
Minutes earlier, in his final public report as administrator, he thanked his administrative team, the medical executive committee, and OMC employees.
Although he had accepted several awards for quality care on the hospital’s behalf, he noted, “I did not take care of a single patient. That was you.”
