John Stewart, 75, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 5:38 p.m. Thursday wreck.
Oregon State Police were quoted as saying that an investigation revealed that the 2000 Harley Davidson operated by Stewart was traveling northbound on state Highway 219 when for unknown reasons the motorcycle veered into the oncoming lane and hit a commercial truck.
The driver of the commercial truck was not injured.
