SEQUIM — A Port Angeles motorcyclist was charged with assaulting three Sequim police officers who received minor injuries in a struggle to subdue and arrest the man.
Lincoln C. Erickson, 27, was at one point shot with a Taser, a nonlethal electronic stun gun, but to no effect.
Erickson was charged Monday with three third-degree counts of assaulting a law enforcement officer, a class C felony punishable by a maximum five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.
His bond was set Monday at $5,000, and he is scheduled for arraignment at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Clallam County Superior Court.
Sgt. Don Reidel, who received minor injuries to his hand during the arrest at 2:27 p.m. Saturday, was assisted by officers Mark Poole and Chris Wright, who also received minor knee and chest injuries when they were kicked by Erickson in the fight to arrest him, said Sequim Police Information Officer Maris Turner on Tuesday.
Reidel, Pool and Wright were treated at the scene for their injuries.
Erickson was transported by ambulance to Olympic Medical Center hospital and was medically cleared for incarceration at the Clallam County jail.
Erickson was not listed on the county jail roster Tuesday.

Erickson was clocked speeding at 43 mph in a 30 mph zone while riding his 2003 Yamaha R-6 eastbound on Miller Road near Clara Crest when he passed a car.
Reidel said he stepped into the roadway as Erickson pulled up to him and and told him to stop.
“Unless you’re a federal officer, I can’t stop for you,” Erickson told Reidel. “I am doing a delivery, and you have no right to stop me.”
Reidel ordered Erickson to pull over to the side of the road. Erickson said, “I’m leaving now, and you have no right to stop me.”
Erickson rolled the bike downhill away from Reidel, who turned the bike’s key to shut it off and then pulled Erickson off the bike.
“He went back and forth with noncooperating to appearing to cooperate,” Reidel said in the report.
“I then tried to handcuff him when he was in a cooperative mood, and then he grabbed my hands and tried to stop me from handcuffing him.”
Reidel applied the Taser to Erickson’s outer thigh.
Erickson rolled onto Reidel’s right hand, attempting to get the Taser from the officer. He managed to roll the Taser from the officer, who held onto Erickson’s arm to keep him from using the Taser.
Poole and Wright helped Reidel regain the Taser.
“I Tased him on the side of his body with no effect, and Tased him at the junction of his right shoulder and neck, with some effect,” Reidel said.
Poole and Wright handcuffed Erickson at 2:15 p.m.
A search warrant was issued for the motorcycle, and nothing was found on it for delivery. The motorcycle was being held at the Sequim police impound yard on Tuesday.
