PORT ANGELES — A Kirkland developer is considering buying 1.9 acres of the waterfront Oak Street property, which was once considered for a conference center, for $800,000.
“We’re still kind of considering [the Port’s] counteroffer,” said Mark Lahaie from MJR Development, a real estate development company in Kirkland.
“We’ll decide in the next couple weeks whether to pursue it.
“I would say at this point we’re mildly interested.”
Lahaie said if the deal does go through, his company would build an office building with a retail component, but not a conference center.
