Port Angeles: Kayaks hit Hollywood Beach this weekend

PORT ANGELES — If you want to hone your kayaking skills, rub elbows with some of the region’s best paddlers or just learn more about the sport, this is the weekend to do it.

The 3rd annual Port Angeles Kayak Symposium, hosted by Olympic Raft & Kayak, begins today and runs through Sunday at Hollywood Beach, Red Lion Hotel and City Pier.

The event is free, though organizers are asking for donations of $5 or non-perishable food items, all of which will go to the Port Angeles Food bank.

The weekend includes more than 30 on-land and on-water kayaking clinics, ranging from choosing a sea kayak paddle to learning the Eskimo roll.
