PORT ANGELES — A Clallam County Humane Society employee has pleaded guilty to one charge of falsifying information in the investigation of a drug overdose at the shelter.
Charges have been dismissed against one former shelter employee accused in the investigation cover-up.
Another former employee is scheduled to face a jury trial next month.
Humane Society Executive Director Judy Ann Nikodym, 59, accepted a plea bargain Tuesday for one count of making a false or misleading statement to a sheriff’s detective, a gross misdemeanor.
She has been sentenced to 365 days in jail with 362 days suspended, 24 hours of community service and a $5,000 fine with $4,000 suspended.
Clallam County District Court Judge Erik Rohrer dismissed three counts of falsifying information against Nikodym as part of the plea agreement.
