PORT ANGELES — A Port Angeles residence was damaged in a fire Thursday.
The blaze at 512 E. Eighth St. was quickly contained, said Lt. Kevin Denton of the Port Angeles Fire Department.
Firefighters were dispatched at 12:04 p.m. Crews saw smoke coming from the residence made an aggressive attack, containing the blaze to several rooms, Denton said.
An occupant who was sleeping when the fire began escaped through smoke and flames in his bedroom, suffering a minor burn on his foot, Denton said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation Thursday.
No damage estimate was available.
City firefighters responded with two engines, one medic unit and 10 personnel. Clallam County Fire District No. 2 provided mutual aid with one engine and four personnel.
