PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles High School Future Business Leaders of America chapter teamed up with the Port Angeles High School Cheer team to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The two student groups orchestrated a half-time hoop shoot contest during home basketball games.
Fans had an opportunity to win a free Gordy’s pizza by making a basketball shot half-court at $1 per shot.
At the end of the basketball season, a total of $974.79 was donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
“Overall, it was a very beneficial year,” chapter adviser Bernie Brabant said. “And we are happy we could raise money to make a difference in a child’s life.”
