Port Angeles forum on challenges, successes of disabled people set Dec. 1

PORT ANGELES — The state Governor’s Committee on Disability Issues and Employment plans a town hall forum in Port Angeles on Dec. 1.

The public forum will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in council chambers at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.

Among issues to be discussed concerning the disabled will be transportation, employment opportunities, health care and affordable housing.

The panel will elicit challenges experienced by members of the public, ideas for change and local success stories about people with disabilities.

The following day, the panel will hold a leadership breakfast from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Port Angeles Senior &Community Center, 328 E. Seventh St., Port Angeles, to review issues and concerns discussed at the town hall and explore possible solutions.

The Dec. 1 meeting location is accessible. Real-time captioning service will be provided.
