PORT ANGELES — Someone unplugged the Port Angeles Food Bank’s refrigerated trailer, causing an estimated $5,000 in food to spoil.
Northwest Harvest, the Seattle-based food distribution network, plans to replace the food on Thursday.
“It’s terrible what happened — there was thousands and thousands of dollars in spoiled meat,” food bank director Mikki Saunders said Friday.
She discovered the spoiled food last Monday. The trailer was apparently unplugged, accidentally or intentionally, over the weekend.
Saunders said the trailer sits outside the food bank’s building at 402 S. Valley St.
