PORT ANGELES — Repairs to the fire station’s deteriorating roof will cost more than $400,000, according to a preliminary estimate.
Almost a third of the roof, or 4,000 square feet, of plywood rook decking will be replaced this summer eliminating soft spots caused by trapped moisture, Assistant City Engineer Terin Gloor said Friday.
A final report on the repairs, completed by the city’s Seattle-based consultant, Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc., earlier this month estimated the cost at $409,000.
The City Council will vote in early May on a contract amendment to add the cost of the repairs design to the $409,000 contract, Gloor said.
