PORT ANGELES — For 21 years the Feiro Marine Life Center has educated visitors about organisms which make their homes in Northwest waters.
A celebration for the center, the community which supports it and the man — Arthur D. Feiro — who dreamed of building it will be held Sept. 13.
“It is going to be a fun day for everyone,” said Shirley Anderson, secretary of Friends of the Feiro Marine Life Center, which is hosting the event. “It will be a chance for people who haven’t visited the center to get their ‘feet wet’ and for regulars to celebrate the center.”
Activities during the event include a scavenger hunt, plankton tow, marine life-themed parade, a recognition ceremony and a buffet dinner.
With the exception of the dinner, all events are free to the public.
