North Olympic Peninsula residents are getting an eyeful of the future.
Construction, building and transportation technologies address the energy realities of the 21st century and fuel the Olympic Energy Expo 2003, which ends today at Clallam County Fairgrounds, 1608 W. 16th St., Port Angeles.
Booths by companies and agencies from throughout the Olympic Peninsula will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today. Admission is free.
In addition, a full slate of seminars will be held. Today’s schedule:
* 10 a.m.: Loren Alberti of Expert Electrical Services will demonstrate infrared thermography.
* 10:30 a.m.: Steve Willey of Backwoods Solar Electric Systems will conduct a micro hydro workshop.
* Noon: Clallam County Public Utility District and City of Port Angeles will discuss the Energy Star program and net metering.
* Noon: Jonathan Clemens of Olympic Energy Systems will discuss renewable energy systems.
* 1 p.m.: Noel Van Giesen of ATD and KC Contracting will discuss environmentally friendly construction and design concepts.
* 2 p.m.: Jose Paul will discuss off-grid living opportunities for North Olympic Peninsula residents.
* 3 p.m.: Horticulturist Andrew May will offer tips and demonstrations for garden winterizing.
