Eight design alternatives for the Eighth Street bridges replacement project will be on display during an open house from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Jan. 15 in the council chambers at Port Angeles City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.
The open house will begin at 5:30 p.m. so residents can look at project materials. Two short presentations are scheduled at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Then residents can tell city officials what issues and concerns they have about the replacement of the two links to the city’s western neighborhoods.
The city is planning to replace the two Eighth Street bridges above Valley and Tumwater creeks beginning in 2005. Project engineers have said their goal is keeping one lane of traffic always open during construction.
