PORT ANGELES — Artist Jim Mattern — creator of “Gandy Dancer”‘ and other major artworks that are part of Port Angeles’ Art on the Town sculpture program — will be honored by the City Council on Tuesday.

Port Angeles Downtown Association Executive Director Arla Holzschuh said she’s hoping for a good turnout of local residents for the ceremonies.
“We invite members of the community to join us at 6 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall to show our appreciation for Jim’s contribution to this community — and to thank the council for honoring one of our Art on the Town artists,” she said.
“Tuesday’s proclamation from the council to Jim honors all who participate in and support the Art on the Town program.”
