Port Angeles: Controversy over new Port executive’s past

Claude Bullock, selected to be the new executive director of the Port of Port Angeles, is now the subject of controversy about his alleged ties to a scandal at the Port of Miami, Fla.

Two of the three Port of Port Angeles commissioners, Jack Waud and Glenn Beckman, say they have no concerns based on the Port’s background investigation of Bullock, 61, former Port of Miami deputy director.

The third commissioner, Len Beil, said he wants to talk with Bullock.

News stories were found later on the Internet that quoted allegations that Bullock helped a port contractor collect at least $9 million for harbor dredging not done.
