PORT ANGELES — The City Council will hold a special meeting at 8:30 a.m. today to discuss revising its recent amendment to a 1992 agreement with the Lower Elwha Klallam tribe.
The City Council recently amended the 1992 agreement that allows the city to lease the tribe a portion of federal land on Ediz Hook for 99 years.
The amended agreement allows the tribe to build and operate a tribal cultural center on the Hook that can include an economic development component, such as the proposed marina.
City officials could not be reached for comment Wednesday on what revisions will be discussed.
The proposed marina would be located on a 1,600-foot strip along the south side of Ediz Hook Road, just west of the Puget Sound Pilots’ Station near the entrance to Coast Guard base.
