The crew of the Coast Guard cutter Cuttyhunk will say goodbye to one skipper and usher in another today during a change of command ceremony at Coast Guard Group Port Angeles.
Chief Warrant Officer James A. Robson of Poulsbo will succeed Chief Warrant Officer James Stoffer of Sequim as commanding officer of the 110-foot cutter, based in Port Angeles.
Stoffer, who assumed command of the Cuttyhunk in July 2002, is being promoted to lieutenant and will head to Bahrain to become operations officer for Patrol Boat Forces Southwest Asia.
Robson is reporting from the cutter Healy, where he has served as the first lieutenant since August 2002.
Today’s ceremony begins at 11 a.m. at the base on Ediz Hook.
