PORT ANGELES — Three Port Angeles men facing charges stemming from an assault last month at the Fairmount Motel were part of a plot to kill their victim with a pipe bomb, according to court documents filed this week.
Two other men arrested in Port Angeles last week during a search for illegal explosives and drugs helped furnish the large pipe bomb, court documents show.
Michael Francis Hollingsworth, 33, of 1215 W. U.S. Highway 101, was charged Monday in Clallam County Superior Court with three narcotics and explosives-related felony offenses.
He was arrested Nov. 26 at his mobile home when Port Angeles police and officials from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms searched the home for manufacturing illegal explosives after obtaining a warrant.
The warrant resulted from the Nov. 13 arrest of Evert Linnell Eoff and Robert Allen Stanard in connection with a burglary and assault the previous day of a 45-year-old man in his room at the Fairmount Motel, 1137 W. U.S. Highway 101.
