FORKS — Police continue to investigate an armed robbery at a Forks shop in which two masked men stabbed and threatened to kill an employee before taking $1,400 last week.
Forks police are examining security surveillance video from businesses near the shop, Native to Twilight, 10 Forks Ave., to see whether they can identify the men, said Police Administrator Rick Bart on Friday.
No one has been arrested.
Asked whether the police have any leads, Bart said he had no comment.
The two men, dressed in black, walked into the store between 8:30 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. Wednesday as an employee was preparing to close for the night, co-owner Anna Matsche said Thursday.
They cut, kicked and threatened the life of a store employee before leaving with money from the cash register.
The employee was discharged from Forks Community Hospital after she was treated for cuts on her arms and torso and bruises on her face and legs.
Matsche is offering a cash reward for information about the men.
Her original $500 reward has swelled through community donations.
By Thursday, the reward was $1,025.
More donations had been received by Saturday, said a store employee, but she did not know how much.
Matsche could not be reached for comment Friday or Saturday.
Descriptions
The store employee described one of the men as an adult with a large build, standing 5 feet, 10 inches tall, with broad shoulders, shoulder-length black hair visible under the ski mask and dark-brown eyes, Matsche said.
The other she thought might be a teenager, 5 feet, 2 inches tall, thin, also with dark-brown eyes.
She couldn’t estimate their ages.
Native to Twilight specializes in merchandise related to the series of novels by Stephenie Meyer and movies based on the novels, as well as Native American arts and clothing items.
The owner said she will upgrade security and surveillance systems.
