A high temperature of around 35 degrees, maybe lower with the wind chill, is expected to greet “polar bears”‘ daring enough to plunge into Mystery Bay today.
The 10th annual Nordland General Store Polar Bear Dip will take place at noon on the dock across from the store, 7180 Flagler Road.
Organizer Tom Rose said he expects up to 150 people to take a dive into the chilly water.
The store will have hot drinks for purchase and a bonfire beside the road.
The swimmer with the most outrageous costume wins a prize, Rose said.
