Pittis memorial set for today

A memorial service for Port Angeles City Councilman Jack Pittis will be held at 1 p.m. today at Vern Burton Community Center, 308 E. Fourth St.

Pittis, who was elected to the City Council in November 2003, died of heart complications on Feb. 3, three days after being involved in a two-vehicle collision on state Highway 3 in Kitsap County.

Pittis had lived in Port Angeles since 1980 and was the city’s public works director for 19 years.
