Jefferson Healthcare Executive Chef Aaran Stark explains how to make a yellow split pea salad during this week’s opening of the Jefferson County Wednesday Farmers Market at the Haines Place Park & Ride. Market Director Amanda Milholland said that bulk food items found at the grocery store or food bank in combination with fresh produce from the farmers market can create healthy meals. SNAP/EBT/WIC and Senior tokens are accepted and are matched for additional buying power. Fourteen vendors will be at the market every Wednesday from 11 am to 3 p.m. through September.
