Wednesday’s fatal crash in Discovery Bay was the 14th death on North Olympic Peninsula highways and roads this year.
Since Jan. 1, collisions have killed a Port Ludlow motorcyclist on his morning commute, a SunLand wildlife photographer, four young friends from Clallam Bay, a middle-aged Port Angeles couple, a young man visiting family members in Port Angeles, a young Port Townsend father, a longtime foster parent from Forks, a Clallam County deputy prosecuting attorney and a Centralia man.
Thirteen of this year’s fatal crashes occurred on numbered routes — U.S. Highway 101 and state Highways 112, 104 and 20.
One person lost her life at a Clallam County intersection north of Sequim.
Nine fatality collisions were reported on the Peninsula for all of 2003.
