Washington state Secretary of State Sam Reed will visit Port Townsend and Port Angeles today as part of ceremonies celebrating this year’s 150th anniversary of the establishment of the Washington Territory.
In addition, Reed is discussing “the issues of the day” at a buffet luncheon with local business owners, residents and political leaders in the second-floor meeting room of the Port Angeles CrabHouse Restaurant, 221 N. Lincoln St.
Reed, a Republican, is the chairman of the Washington Territorial Sesquicentennial Commission in addition to being the state’s chief elections officer.
Last month, he set Washington’s 2004 presidential primary for March 2, the “Super Tuesday” date when California, New York and Ohio also will vote.
