Hollis Coe bowed his head.
Golden light filtered through stained glass on Coe and his wife, Dorothea, as they offered a silent prayer during a vigil at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Port Angeles early Tuesday.
The Joyce couple prayed for the victims of the terrorist attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C.
“We’re sad mostly,” Coe said. “To think that someone would use their religion in a way like this is hard.
In Port Townsend, hundreds of marchers took to the streets to show their support for victims and their families.
They marched down Water Street and sang together at Memorial Field during a candlelight vigil.
They sang:
“We shall walk in peace; we shall overcome.”
