PORT ANGELES — The Chamber of Commerce this year has dubbed Port Angeles a destination for “all seasons, countless reasons.”
And here’s another reason Chamber Executive Director Russ Veenema hopes tourists will flock to the Peninsula — a 30-second television commercial that will air on Seattle-area cable channels this year.
“We’re trying to position Port Angeles as more of a destination-type town, rather than a pass-through place, a gateway,” Veenema said Monday.
The commercial marks the first time the chamber has marketed Port Angeles on television, Veenema said.
Veenema aired the television spot for chamber members Monday during the chamber’s weekly luncheon at the CrabHouse restaurant.
The $1,400 ad, produced by Port Angeles Television Productions owner Darwin Gearey, will run in May and September through AT&T Cable in Skagit, Snohomish and King counties.
