BLYN — A convoy of more than 280 entries rolled out of the 7 Cedars Casino parking lot at noon Saturday for the second annual Kaptain Knievel Celebrity Motorcycle Run.
Encouraged by event sponsor Robbie Knievel to enjoy the “beautiful scenery,” the enthusiastic motorcyclists followed a pack of celebrities on the 200-mile round-trip run along U.S. Highway 101 and the Hood Canal.
Including passengers, an estimated 450 people participated in the run.
“The best things in life are free, so enjoy the mountains, trees, water and fresh air,” said Knievel, moments before the start of the event.
“There is no more beautiful place in the country, perhaps the world, than Washington — when it isn’t raining.”
Joining Knievel at the front of the convoy were several celebrities including actors Dan Hagerty and Ian Zierling (“90210”) Paul Mitchell Chief Executive Officer Jean Paul de Joria, former Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers player Jason Childs and Mike Snyder of Red Robin Restaurants.
Knievel introduced each celebrity and acknowledged numerous other friends and sponsors moments before the start of the motorcycle run.
The beneficiaries of the run are Healthy Families of Clallam County and its programs.
