BLYN — Clallam County commissioners have signed a year-old agreement allowing the Jamestown S”Klallam tribe to pay a “more fair amount” for emergency calls at its 7 Cedars Casino.
Under the agreement, the tribe will be required to pay $124,260 in delinquent payments accrued since 1995, county Undersheriff Dan Engelbertson said.
Jamestown S’Klallam officials owe $10,813 to Jefferson County Fire District No. 5, $16,220 to Fire District No. 3, $54,065 to the Sequim Police Department and $43,163 to the sheriff’s department, Engelbertson said.
Those delinquencies came after tribal officials overestimated anticipated revenues when the casino opened in 1993. The tribe was supposed to pay 2 percent of net win gambling receipts, Engelbertson said.
County commissioners approved the agreement Tuesday in Port Angeles.
