The statewide influenza vaccine shortage reached Clallam and Jefferson counties this week, the health officer for both counties reported Tuesday.
While Jefferson County does not offer health department influenza vaccine clinics, Dr. Tom Locke asked that only those considered at risk in Clallam County seek vaccinations at county clinics.
“Due to the extremely limited supply of influenza vaccine available, I am asking county residents who do not meet one or more of the following risk categories to voluntarily forego influenza vaccinations at the Health Department’s flu clinics,” Locke said in a prepared statement released Tuesday afternoon.
