Sparklers, snakes, fountains.
Firecrackers, bottle rockets, Roman candles.
All kinds of fireworks ranging in price from a few cents to several hundred dollars are available this year from 17 nontribal and 28 tribal stands operating in Clallam and Jefferson counties.
And more stands are expected to open in the next day or two.
Many fireworks stand operators say they expect better than average sales this year, spurred by last year’s terrorist attacks and a surge in patriotism. Some even say they will stay open 24 hours a day through July 3.
But most stands are open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Security guards will protect fireworks stands and tents after hours.
