A chartered cruise ship carrying about 60 passengers will make a brief stop at City Pier in Port Angeles today before venturing to the West End.
The Cruise West-owned ship Spirit of Oceanus chartered by Seattle-based TCS Expeditions is expected to dock at City Pier at 8 a.m.
Passengers will depart the vessel for a ranger guided tour of Hurricane Ridge and then return to the ship in time for a 1 p.m. departure for Neah Bay.
The 296-foot Spirit of Oceanus visited Port Angeles five times last fall and it’s passengers spent more than $20,000 on fees, souvenirs and admissions, according to merchants and Olympic National Park and Port Angeles officials.
This is the first time TCS Expeditions has brought a cruise to the North Olympic Peninsula.
