On Saturday, the Vern Burton Community Center in Port Angeles becomes a children’s paradise as the 12th annual Kids Fest swings into action.
Parents, grandparents and friends are invited to bring children to a day of free fun and educational activities sponsored by the Port Angeles Kiwanis Club.
Kids Fest will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Vern Burton, 308 E. Fourth St.
“This is a fun, activity-filled, daylong event that gives families a chance to see what is available in the community,” said Diana Assumpcao, an event coordinator and program manager of the Exchange Club Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse at Healthy Families of Clallam County.
“Kids of all ages can enjoy the event, which includes parents, too,” Assumpcao said.
“You never know what is going to happen at Kids Fest.”
Some of the more interesting activities Saturday include learning to tie fishing flies, a petting zoo, mask making, crayon melting, a Playdoh station and kite making, she said.
